Small kitchens with hotplates, microwave and toaster ovens are located on floors 1 through 5.
Students must provide their own dishes and cooking equipment. Each room has a refrigerator for storing food.
During the academic year the foyer does not serve breakfast or any other meal.
Showers and toilets
Showers are located on floors 1 through 5.
There are toilets on every floor except the 6th.
Students who have their own computer, tablet or smartphone can connect to the internet in their room, the library, and throughout most of the building. There is no extra charge for internet access.
Two computers on the 7th floor and two in the library are also available for internet access.
A vast terrace on the 7th floor offers a panoramic view over Paris, from the Tour Montparnasse to Montmartre. To the west it offers a direct view onto the Eiffel Tower and the Luxembourg Gardens, while to the east the dome of Val de Grâce is visible. The terrace is open to all residents of the foyer.
Tables and chairs are provided and the terrace is decorated with a variety of plants.
The 7th floor “solarium” has two computers with Microsoft Office. Students can also use the classrooms on the entresol when classes are not being held.
The Foyer library, located on the 5th floor and decorated with wood sculptures and a monumental fireplace, is open 24 hours a day every day for foyer residents.
The collection includes 10 000 books, subscriptions to 15 periodicals, and 300 films. The library catalogue can be consulted at http://www.bibliofie.net/.
